Companies benefit from expanding commute alternatives

Is improving employee mobility a strategic imperative for your business? This article explores how companies are reshaping commutes…from public transit to car sharing and shuttles.

Employers are playing an active role in taking commuter perks to the next level – weaving a variety of modes and incentives into the fabric of their commuting-friendly company cultures. WeDriveU designs, implements and manages these commute programs for clients across the U.S., including several in this profile by the San Francisco Business Times.

The numbers are staggering. According to a report from the Bay Area Council and MTC, private shuttle ridership jumped from 6.6 million to nearly 9.6 million passengers from 2012 to 2014. The impact? Fewer single-passenger vehicles, higher productivity and less stress – on commuters and the environment.

Signs are we’ll continue on this trajectory given the accelerated pace and expanded scope of WeDriveU rollouts for the Fortune 500. The notion that “many employers are offering more than private shuttles” is also playing out as demand grows for adding WeDriveU components like dedicated On-Demand service on corporate campuses and Shared Mobility programs between multiple employers.

Hear how companies are accelerating these programs when employers take the stage at the ACT TDM Forum in Boston Oct. 11-12, 2016. Learn more and register.
